Waterborne Polyester Resin for Wheel Hub & Frame High-Gloss Silver Amino Baking Coatings

WL-189 is a self-emulsifying waterborne polyester resin supplied as an unneutralized raw liquid with a solid content of up to 71%. Designed for industrial baking coatings, this product meets requirements for high hardness and excellent fullness.

• Excellent aluminum pigment orientation: Long side-chain structure constrains molecular chain movement, allowing smooth aluminum silver powder alignment for strong metallic effect with minimal floating. 60° gloss ≥95°, ideal for high-gloss silver powder baking coatings.
• Inherent anti-sagging property: Highly branched structure provides thixotropic tendency, resisting sagging during thick application and enabling thick film formation in a single coat.
• Good storage stability: Hydrolysis-resistant monomer design prevents thickening and stratification during heat storage at 50°C.
• Film properties: Adhesion to cold-rolled steel: grade 0-1; excellent recoating adhesion; pencil hardness ≥H (measured values up to 2H); moderate flexibility (not suitable for workpieces requiring deep bending).

• Before use, neutralize with DMEA (3-5% of resin weight)
• Suitable for grinding with temperature control below 50°C
• Formulate with Cymel 303LF or Cymel 327 to produce amino baking coating

Amino baking coatings (mainstream):

• Use with fully methylated amino resin
• Resin:amino ratio = 100:28-38
• Baking: 130-150°C/20-30 min

Two-component PU:

• HDI trimer, NCO/OH = 1.0-1.1
• Low-temperature baking at 80-100°C
• Relatively short pot life

• Steel wheel hub coatings
• Tricycle frame baking coatings
• Hardware high-gloss silver-white amino baking coatings
• Indoor solid-color high-gloss industrial baking coatings

Not recommended for: Outdoor weatherable systems, workpieces requiring large deformation bending, and packaging/storage conditions.
