Product Description
Waterborne Epoxy Dispersion for Anti-Corrosion Primer
WL-147 is a macromolecular epoxy with a molecular weight of approximately 30,000 and a particle size of 50-80 nm. It is a waterborne epoxy dispersion, a stable dispersion system formed by epoxy resin dispersed in water in the form of tiny droplets. It contains no or very little organic solvent and belongs to the category of environmentally friendly epoxy resins. It is a core raw material for waterborne coatings, adhesives, flooring, and anti-corrosion materials. When used, it is combined with a waterborne epoxy curing agent (mainly polyamine-based, also water-dispersible/water-soluble) for two-component crosslinking and curing.

Performance Features
  • Excellent adhesion: Outstanding penetration and bonding strength to steel, cold-rolled sheet, electrophoretic substrates, and concrete. Can be applied on moderately moist substrates and is not prone to peeling or flaking.
  • Outstanding anti-corrosion and anti-rust performance: The cured film is dense and resistant to salt spray, acids, alkalis, and chemicals. Its anti-rust performance is far superior to one-component waterborne acrylic systems, making it suitable for heavy-duty anti-corrosion primers.
  • High hardness, wear resistance, and low shrinkage: The coating film has good mechanical strength, resistance to impact, and friction.
  • Environmentally friendly and safe: Low VOC, non-flammable, low storage and transportation risks, and meets environmental emission requirements.
  • Good compatibility: Excellent compatibility with waterborne acrylic topcoats, good interlayer adhesion, and excellent recoatability.
Limitations: Poor weather resistance; not suitable for direct use as an outdoor topcoat, as it tends to chalk under long-term sunlight exposure. Drying speed is greatly affected by temperature and humidity, and curing requires two steps: moisture evaporation + crosslinking.
Usage Methods
  • Can be formulated with amino resins for baking coatings.
  • Can be used as a one-coat anti-corrosion primer-topcoat system.
  • This product can be ground, with the grinding temperature not exceeding 50°C.
  • This product can use ethylene glycol monobutylether or propylene glycol methylether as a co-solvent.

Adjust the viscosity first, then make up with water. After self-curing for 7 days, salt spray resistance can exceed 400 hours.
Recommended Applications
  • Anti-corrosion coatings: Waterborne epoxy primers for steel structures, primers for construction machinery, anti-corrosion coatings for pipeline interiors, and metal anti-rust protection.
  • Building protection: Cement-based penetration reinforcement and waterproof mortar modification.
  • Insulating coatings.
  • Industrial coatings: Container interiors, hardware, and coil primers; also used as a pigment wetting and filler dispersion carrier.
