WL-187 Water Based Saturated Polyester Resin For Coil Coating
Introduction
Wangqin saturated polyester resin is formed by the reaction of polyacid and polyol, which is characterized by excellent gloss, flexibility and hardness. It is mainly used for can coatings, rolled steel, inks, adhesives, PET rolls, automotive coatings, anti-corrosion coatings for steel structures, and other metal baking coatings.
Wangqin water-based saturated polyester resins are recommmened to used with amino crosslinkers (Cytec 303 and Cytec 305) and our acid catalysts ( cross-linking urea and melamine curing system) to make high-temperature baking paint,the coating film has high gloss, bright transparency, excellent adhesion on different metals, excellent mechanical properties, good pigment wetting.
WL-187 is water based hydroxy-functional saturated polyester resin, it has good flexibility and chemical resistance, excellent versatility. It is usually used with amino crosslinkers (Cytec 325 and Cytec 303) for water-based amino baking varnish, coil coating and iron printing industry.

Application Guide
◆ After WL-187 is neutralized with N, N-dimethylethanolamine( 5~6% of the resin), it can be directly diluted with water.
◆ Add methylated amino resin (20%-30% of the resin) for baking and curing. The baking temperature is above 120°C. The baking conditions and paint film properties are related to the amino resin used. When it used with the fully methylated amino resin, an acid catalyst (0.5-1% of the resin) must be added, and the baking temperature must be above 140°C.
Characteristics
WL-187 is a water-dilutable saturated polyester resin, which can be infinitely diluted with deionized water after neutralized, it can be stored stably under alkaline conditions, and will settle and stratify under acidic conditions, which is especially obvious when acidic pigments are added. Therefore, the diluted resin and finished paint should be stored under weak alkaline conditions. The pH can be adjusted using organic amines or ammonia. The viscosity of the emulsion increases with increasing pH.
The diluted emulsion has excellent shear stability and can directly participate in the grinding of pigment paste. Because the structural characteristics of the resin help the wetting of pigments and fillers. It is recommended not to add or add less wetting agent when the resin is involved in grinding.
WL-187 has excellent hardness and flexibility after cross-linking with amino resin, and can be widely used in coil and iron printing industries.
Storage Condition
Store the product in a cool and dry place, the recommended storage temperature is 0~40℃. The shelf life is one year. After the expiration date, if the test passed, it still can be used.
