Waterborne Epoxy Ester Resin For Red Oxide Primer and Topcoat
Mild steel panels were coated with the water soluble epoxy ester resin WL-172B and their performance were evaluated by monitoring adhesion, tensile, scratch hardness, bend and impact resistances. The corrosion resistance properties of the coatings were evaluated by salt spray, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. It is observed that this epoxy ester has better mechanical and anticorrosive properties than the rest of the water soluble polymers.
A red oxide primer and topcoat made of the water soluble epoxy ester resin WL-172B have high-performance, single-component, quick-dry, rust preventive formulated for use on ferrous metal substrates. It provides corrosion resistance for both interior and exterior steel surfaces. ferrous metal substrates such as structural steel, railings, equipment and machinery. It is formulated to provide lasting rust and corrosion resistance on a variety of interior and exterior metal surfaces and may be top coated with water-based or alkyd/oil-based finishes. This primer offers excellent coverage, spreads evenly, resists sagging, is abrasion resistant, and provides unsurpassed durability.
