Product Description

Water based solid acrylic resin WQ-108

WQ-108 solid acrylic resin is similar to SOLURYL 120. WQ-108 water based acrylic resin a medium molecular weight solid acrylic resin suitable for producing various water based inks and varnish, applied to paper board, food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging and various film substrates, such as PE, BOPP, and PET. Peoperties: Sedium molecular weight, low voa; Application: pigment grinding ink &varnishemulsion polymerization.
WQ-108 water based acrylic resin is provided in solid form and is neutralized and dissolved to form varnish before use.

Storage condition
The product should be stored in a closed container to avoid freezing and high temperature, if possible, it should be used within six months. Suggested normal storage temperature is 10 to 35℃.
 
 
SUGGESTION OF DISSOLUTION
 
There are two kinds of equipments for dissolution of solid resins, reaction kettle and mixer, hence here are two sets of suggestions to dissolve the solid resins.

Process:

  1. Put the solid resin into the water in room temperature when rabbling at high speed;
  2. Keep rabbling to ensure the resin is entirely moisted, it takes 5mins in this step normally;
  3. Put the ammonia water into the kettle slowly;
  4. Heat up to 70-80℃, then keep the temperature for 1.5 hours;
  5. Rabble till the resin become entirely dissolved in the water, it takes more than 1.5 hours;
  6. Make the PH 8.0-9.0, the ideal number is 8.5-8.7, ammonia water is used for PH adjustment.

Process:

  1. Put the solid resin into the water in room temperature when rabbling at high speed;
  2. Keep rabbling to ensure the resin is entirely moisted at the speed of 1200r/min for 15mins;
  3. Put the ammonia water into the mixer slowly: add 80%, then add the 20% after 30 mins;
  4. Keep rabbling till the resin become entirely dissolved (around 4.5 hours), the speed could be lowered to 1000r/min in the second part of 4.5 hours;
  5. Make the PH 8.0-9.0, the ideal number is 8.5-8.7, ammonia water is used for PH adjustment.
